Cold Feet
Keith plays Monte Latham, a not-so-innocent cowboy who foils the plans of two other thieves. Kenny (played by Tom Waits), Maureen (portrayed by Sally Kirkland) and Monte steal some jewels and 'store' them in a poor horse (yep, in the horse...). Kenny and Maureen leave Monte to seal the deal, but Monte takes off with the jewel-filled horse...so the chase begins! Sweetie-pie Bill Pullman is also in this movie as Monte's brother Buck!
Maureen wants to marry Monte...
REAL bad...but Monte is not quite who he seems to be...
....and he makes off with the horse, heading for the family ranch in Montana!
Monte holes up with his brother and sister-in-law at the ranch...
...where he discovers that everything is not as it should be...the Lathams are in a deep, financial hole.
But Monte being Monte, he even tries to make a pass at his long-suffering sister-in-law...he's a lonely cowboy, after all!
But he does send for his daughter, and tries to have some sort of 'normal' family life on the ranch.
But then Kenny and Maureen find out where Monte is when they are on the trail of the missing horse...
As stated earlier, Maureen wants Monte...

So she 'forgives' him, keeps Kenny from killing him, and really leaves Monte with no option other than to marry her if he wants to live, and protect his family...
The ending of this movie is reached through several twists and turns, and is quite funny. It is interesting to find out who are actually the biggest crooks in the film, and, hey, what happens to the horse?
Rip Torn and Kathleen York are also featured in this film. Jeff Bridges has a great cameo as a bar owner--very funny! This movie is out on DVD, and is worth watching! Cold Feet is a love story. Maureen, Monte's loudly dressed, long in the tooth girlfriend wants to marry Monte, REAL BAD! Monte is the first completely dishonest cowbot Maureen's ever met and she ain't gonna let him get away! Maureen loves two things in life, Sex and Food! It takes money to buy food and sex well, she's depending on Monte for that! Kenny is a killer, a psycho killer! Kenny carries a loaded revolver and a never-ending baggie full of Turkish figs. It doesn't take much to set Kenny off.
So we have KC as an adorable completely dishonest cowboy, his girlfriend Maureen (Sally Kirkland) and kenny played by an effervescent Tom Waits (my favorite Singer songwriter) They're Off! They got this horse ya see. They got stolen jewels too. So where do they hide these stolen gems? That's right! Up the horse's ass! The horse gets stored away till the coast is clear. NOT Maureen and Kenny move cross country in a horse trailer while Monte settles the deal. This was a mistake As we know already, Monte's not to be trusted. Monte steals the horse and rides it to his brother's Montana ranch. His brother( Bill Pullman) is a joy to watch, as is Kathleen York as Monte's sister-in-law. The ranch ain't doin' so good. In fact the couple are about to lose the ranch when Monte comes riding in with a surprise. A beautiful horse to stud out, Monte's brother doesn't know that the horse is full of jewels. Kenny and Maureen find out what's going on and head out to the only place Monte would hide out, on his brother's ranch in Montana. This is a bouncy jarred up movie.. The kind you used to go see at the drive-in picture show back in the 70s and 80s, meaning this movie is FUN. We meet The sheriff ( Rip Torn) performs the dreaded marriage ceremony about five minutes before arresting Monte and Maureen. Monte's brother kills Kenny! Say what? Turkish fig anyone? Come On Have One!
