Keith and co-star James Horan on the set of "Criminal MInds" (source: www.jameshoran.com)

Keith was a guest star on the CBS show about FBI profilers, "Criminal Minds," in two episodes (13 and 23) during the second season. He played a serial killer, a sexual sadist named Frank (another "Frank!) Breitkopf. The Carradine gave a truly hair-raising performance, using precise enunciation of all word sounds, phrasing and decreased vocal tone and loudness to chilling effect. Once again, he stole the show, although fellow guest star Amy Madigan (in both episodes) was fabulous, as usual. Even if you don't like these types of shows, Keith's performance is worth watching.

Frank recommends the milkshakes...

The FBI catches up with the man they believe to be the 'most prolific' serial killer ever...in a diner.

He has a grisly trophy in a bag for them...and he wants to make a deal....

He has returned to town for Jane, a woman he claims to love...

Mandy Patinkin and Keith on "Criminal Minds" - how can KC look so good playing such a bad character...?!

Frank promises that, if he can only have his Jane, he will give the FBI the information they need, and that he will not kill again...

Lucky Amy Madigan gets to kiss Keith Carradine!

Jane and Frank...together at last...!

Keith reprised his role in the last episode of Season 2:

Jane has disappeared and Frank wants her back!
He believes Jane has run away from him
to find someone from the FBI...

Frank vows that he will not stop killing until Jane is returned to him...

Keith as Frank is...waiting...

Frank arranges to meet with agents and Jane at the train station...

"Come to me..."

Frank beckons to Jane, saying that they belong together, and that he will not be captured.

So Jane and Frank decide to meet their fates together...

This, as mentioned above, was an extremely scary character and Keith Carradine was absolutely wonderful in this role. It was weird watching him, and thinking how wonderful he looked playing such an evil entity...gosh, he can ACT!

Here are some additional screen caps of this handsome and talented man:

"It's magic time!"

Frank would love to pick the agent's brain...

Those 2 episodes were yesterday evening on channel TF1 at 11.15 pm. Of course I didn't miss them ! I generally try not to miss Criminal minds on sunday nights, cause I like this series even without KC... I loved those 2 episodes. He is definitely damned good in the serial killers parts ! Those episodes are different from all the other I've seen until now. Not better, nor worse : different. Something in the way they were shot ? Is it due to KC's presence ? I don't know. Tell me what you think.
By the way, is Amy Madigan the actress playing Jane ? I didn't know her before.
