Maria's Lovers
Keith starred as Clarence Butts in this movie about a woman who takes other lovers when her wounded soldier can no longer meet her needs. Natassja Kinski portrays Maria, and John Savage plays her husband Ivan. Vincent Spano, Robert Mitchum and a luminous Anita Morris can also be seen in this film. Clarence tries to charm Maria when they meet again on the bus crossing town....
Maria lets Clarence think he is seducing her with his songs... (Okay, ARayne, I can understand why you like to see him in a suit; he looks really good in this one...dexgal)
After Clarence gets punched out by Ivan, he picks up his guitar and keeps playing! What talent! What a guy!

This is a beautifully crafted film. It's setting is a picturesque Pennsylvania countryside town known as Brownsville.The town itself is inhabited mostly by Yugoslavian immigrants and the time are the days immediately following WW2 . Ivan Bibic has made it home. He has spent time in a Japanse prison camp where the ONLY thing he had to survive the hideous horrors he has experienced was a picture of his girlfriend back home. Her name is Maria (Nastassja Kinski) Now he sees her. One evening coming home from a casual date with a young fella in an Army uniform (Vincent Spano) Ivan doesn't know but Maria has been waiting for his return. She loves Ivan and always has and she wants to be his wife as badly as Ivan wants her to be. They say goodnight with a smile and Ivan goes back to his dad's house. Ivan's father, Mr. Bibic wants to know all about his son's adventures in the service but Ivan can't talk. he just sits at his father's kitchen able in silence. Mr. Bibic has invited Mrs Wynic over to welcome his war hero son home. Mrs Wynic is something to see! (Played by the red-headed steamrollin' sex kitten Anita Morris, in one of her few performances. Anita Morris died of ovarian cancer) she is so luminously delicate in this film - It's haunting. She is the town whore! Ivan and Mrs Wynic do some proper humping in this movie. They go on back to Mrs Wynics house to work off some frustration. Mr Bibic smiles to himself as they leave... buttons popping everywhere. Only once tho.. before the knot is tied to Maria.
The wedding is performed and Ivan and Maria are wed. Ivan carries Maria over the theshold and she teasingly heads on up the stairs and into the bedroom.. locking him out like the proper virgin she is. Finally she allows him to come in and she lays down and acts like a little wife.He Kisses her and wants to but ,he can't. He just can't do it. He's impotent with her. He cries on hr stomach, gets up and walks away
