This movie's based on fact. Peter Coyote plays this guy who moves countrywide taking advantage of women who are of a certain "unmarriagable" age. The women he chooses all happen to either be widows of well to do men, have big life insurance policies and or own their own businesses. Ms. Weld is divorced and co/owns an antique shop. Ol' Coyote frequents these quaint little establishments sniffing out victims He just walks into her store. She is lonely, and she is very flattered that a tall, handsome gentleman such as Ol' Coyote would woo her and dine her and call her delicious. This in turn makes her very, very generous with her finances and valuable antiques. She trusts him blindly enough to take him to meet her mother (played by a suspicious Sherri North), Nevertheless, after a happy homemade Italian dinner, prepared by Ol' Coyote, all is more comfortable, and he succeeds in leaving with all Mama's belongings also. He leaves behind a sinkful of dirty dishes, a card table and some orange crates to use for chairs.
Somewhere close behind, his past is catching up with him. After leaving Ms. Weld and her dear mother high and dry, a very angry Ms. Weld gets a knock at her door. KCs character has been screwed out of his motorcycle and has rented a Airstream motor home.
Ms. Weld finds out that Ol' Coyote has given her address as his residence and that's how KC has found her.
She trusts no one at this point and it's a bit dicey between these two people but they go on a search to find this SOB. They find that he has a list of victims that would curl your hair. Along the way they slowly fall in love. They make love once and KC asks her if he was better in the sack than ol' Coyote. She reluctantly answers "I don't know, we never had sex" Old Coyote could talk the talk and that's all.
When they finally track Ol Coyote down, he doesn't even remember the Ms Weld character
A devastating end.
